Ultralocality and slow contraction

چکیده

We study the detailed process by which slow contraction smooths and flattens universe using an improved numerical relativity code that accepts initial conditions with non-perturbative deviations from homogeneity isotropy along two independent spatial directions. Contrary to common descriptions of early universe, we find geometry first rapidly converges inhomogeneous, spatially-curved anisotropic ultralocal state in all gradient contributions equations motion decrease as exponential time negligible values. This is followed a second stage homogeneous, spatially flat isotropic spacetime. In particular, decay appears follow same history whether entire spacetime or only parts it are smoothed end contraction.

Ultralocality on the lattice

It is shown that the nonlocal Dirac operator yielded by a lattice model that preserves chiral symmetry and uniqueness of fields, approaches to an ultralocal and invariant under translations operator when the size of the lattice tends to zero.

Ginsparg-Wilson-Lüscher Symmetry and Ultralocality

Important recent discoveries suggest that Ginsparg-Wilson-Lüscher (GWL) symmetry has analogous dynamical consequences for the theory on the lattice as chiral symmetry does in the continuum. While it is well known that inherent property of lattice chiral symmetry is fermion doubling, we show here that inherent property of GWL symmetry is that the symmetry transformation couples fermionic degrees...

Slow inward current and contraction of sheep cardiac Purkinje fibers

A "slow" inward current (Is) has been identified in ventricular muscle and Purkinje fibers of several mammalian species. The two-microelectrode voltage clamp technique is used to examine some of the relationships between Is and contraction of the sheep cardiac Purkinje fiber. "Tails" of inward current occurring on repolarization and extrapolation of Is recovery each show that the Is system may ...

Intracellular calcium movements during excitation–contraction coupling in mammalian slow-twitch and fast-twitch muscle fibers

In skeletal muscle fibers, action potentials elicit contractions by releasing calcium ions (Ca(2+)) from the sarcoplasmic reticulum. Experiments on individual mouse muscle fibers micro-injected with a rapidly responding fluorescent Ca(2+) indicator dye reveal that the amount of Ca(2+) released is three- to fourfold larger in fast-twitch fibers than in slow-twitch fibers, and the proportion of t...

Slow Contraction and Its Relation to Spontaneous Activity in the Sea-anemone Metridium Senile (l.)

It has been known for some time that the most rapid reflex contractions of seaanemones show a characteristic relation to the stimulus. Thus in CalUactisparasitica a short series of adequate electric shocks, given at a frequency of about 1 per sec, is regularly followed by a facilitated contraction of the marginal sphincter (Pantin, 1935a, b). That is, each successive shock sets up a nervous imp...
